Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is a Linux distribution, developed by Red Hat and designed for the business market, following the Red Hat Linux distribution.
GNOME is the default desktop environment for Red Hat Enterprise Linux; the KDE Plasma desktop environment is also available.[1][note 1]
The Red Hat Enterprise Linux installer allows the operating system to be installed on XFS-, ext4-, ext3-, ext2-, or btrfs-formatted partitions.[2][note 2]
Notes
- ↑ KDE is still available as of RHEL 7.x, but future major releases of RHEL will not support KDE.
- ↑ btrfs is available for RHEL 7.x as a technology preview, but future major releases of RHEL will not support btrfs.
